Early Halloween Celebration

Matt and I were able to head out to his boss, Lt. Col. Stanley's, Halloween Party on Friday night! Thanks so much to my co-worker Erin and Keelee for watching Avery for us while we went out for a night of much needed fun!! Keelee, you totally rock for coming over after class....I hope your final went well Saturday morning :) THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

So I've got a little catching up to do... :)

Two weekends ago now, the girls got together to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Beth and Sam's little bundle of joy, they so affectionately call "Clety". Beth's mom, Mary, was able to fly in from CA to help us celebrate!! So good to see you Mary!

It was an absolutely gorgeous day, to go with the beautiful glowing mommy-to-be. :) I'm so glad I was able to be a part of this special day.

I've been having a rough time dealing with some changes with Matt's job, so my sweet pea husband sent me flowers AND chocolate to my work yesterday! What a treat that was and everyone was extremely jealous of the chocolate. :) They're lucky I'm so nice and shared some. Hee Hee

We've been hesitant to give Avery her own silverware and plates because she pretty much chucks everything across the kitchen, but tonight I decided to brave this new territory. Surprisingly she did really well!! As you can see, she was so excited to use her new plate that she even licked it clean!! I couldn't help but laugh on the video. She just cracks me up!! :)

The weather and more!

Sad to say that it's already Sunday night. :( Where does the weekend go?? We've been busy this week and weekend...but with all the exciting news with friends back home, I haven't posted anything that we've been up to. :)

This weekend was pretty busy...Matt and I had a date Friday night. Dinner and a movie...we went to see The Departed (Martin Scorcese film). It was very good...and surprisingly funny! Not for the faint of heart though...sorry Sam and Tammi! Hee Hee Saturday we headed down to Flat Irons mall to get Avery some shoes, which we were successful in doing. With the weather we've had and are going to have, getting a good pair of sneakers for her was on our To-Do list. Then today, we've just done some catch up around the house. Nothing too exciting really. However, I was able to buy some pants, a couple shirts and Matt even got some shirts as well on our shopping trip. It was a very fun weeekend, but it's back to the daily grind tomorrow. We hope all of you had a great weekend!!

Congratulations to one of my other very best friends!!! My friend Mae is pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yea!!!! We are so happy for you and Anson!! Having Avery is the best thing in the whole world and we can't wait for you to experience parenthood....the good times and the bad...they're all good!! :)

Congratulations!!!!!

Congratulations to one of my very best friends, Jill!! We have gone to school together since 6th grade, so we have been through a lot together!! One of them is the exciting news she shared with me Saturday!!!! Her and her boyfriend, Josh, have gotten engaged!!!! YIPPEE!!!! We are so happy for you both and can't wait to see you!! Jill and Josh came out to good old Wyoming in 2004 and we had so much fun. :) Congratulations again guys!!! Hugs!!!

Random Thoughts

Avery got a ride on toy for her birthday...which she absolutely loved. At first she just played the music on it and put things inside the seat (it has a little storage space).

Our weekend was very busy and productive! Friday we had dinner with some friends, where we were told that Avery was not allowed to be in the bar. Long story, so I'll try to explain the short version. One of the guys we were meeting was waiting in the bar for everyone at Red Lobster. Matt and I walk in and see him, go in to the bar to tell him we were there, say our Hi's and Hello's...we were literally in there for maybe 30 seconds, when the bartender proceeded to tell us that we couldn't have the baby in the bar, that you have to be 21 and over. Well NO KIDDING LADY!! I then had to quickly hide the vodka tonic I had secretly ordered for Avery, my one year old daughter! (Am I laying on the sarcasm thick enough here?). She was extremely rude about it...to the point where Matt and I almost said something to the manager. She said to me, "This is a bar." To which I said back, "Really? I know this is a bar, thanks for pointing that out!" Hopefully you get the jist of the story in the small space I wrote in. :) OK, thanks for letting me vent.

Saturday we got our glasses fixed, got new phones and bought picture frames because Hobby Lobby had them for half-off through Saturday. I got the brilliant idea of re-decorating a wall in our living room. I always forget how much fun it is to hang up pictures, but Matt was great and did all the math to make sure that all the frames were level, etc. Thanks Sweet Pea!

Sunday, we actually hung up the picture frames, played a lot with our phones...we got the new blue tooth things. They are pretty cool!! We watched football and ordered pizza for dinner. Pretty relaxing...aside from pretty much being on the phone all day with friends and family :)

Hallelujah!!!

The tooth fairy has FINALLY blessed little miss Avery with what I believe to be not one, but TWO more teeth! We thought she had been teething, but as most parents know, you always think they're teething when they're fussy or needy. Avery definitely fit the bill over the past couple of weeks and she seemed to be a little better yesterday. There is no way she would let us put our fingers in her mouth to check out the situation...not that we'd want to because those teeth are sharp! She was hanging upside down in my arms last night and I finally got a peek of the new pearly whites! Yea!!!! Sorry no pic for this post. Happy Humpday everyone. :)

Weekend, etc.

Well, after a VERY long week at work, I was very happy to see the weekend arrive. The only problem is that it is always too short darn it!! Friday I was in Laramie all day for work and did not get home until after 8:00....and missed Whitney's birthday dinner. :( Saturday I did pretty much nothing...I was completely beat!! Sunday, Matt, Avery and I went down to do some shopping in CO. We bought her a very nice winter coat since it's getting to be that time of year here! Then I met up with Tammi, her boys, and Lindsey in Fort Collins. We had a great time hanging out. :)

Now my new dilema is what should Avery be for Halloween? Tammi and I are thinking of dressing up the kids together and she has come up with some very good ideas. :) This is a picture of her last year at this time...I believe she was just a little over a month old. Being so little, we just put her in a little Eeyore type costume that Grandma Rose and Grandpa Tom bought for her.

Ideas for the kids:

Tanner be the lion tamer and Avery and Evan lions.
Tanner a bee keeper and the little ones bees.
Tanner the farmer and the kiddos farm animals.
