Silly Faces and a Sad Goodbye

I promise to have pics of the new place by the end of this week. We are waiting on bedroom furniture, which should be here tomorrow, before I take pics. It's almost completely decorated, just need to hang a few pictures and I think we're set (at least for a few months!).

For those of you who don't know yet, we are headed back to CA in August. We literally found out the day we moved in on base. We are to report no later than Aug 15, which may or may not move up. I am very excited and really looking forward to the nice weather. I can't believe how quickly that time is approaching and when it gets closer, there will be a long, sappy, emotional message regarding our time here in Cheyenne. :)

Also, as for the sad goodbye...I am talking about our old place here. It was such a cute little home and Avery's first home. It was very sad for me to say goodbye. We actually had to go back over while the other person was cleaning the carpets because the movers forgot some things....I made Matt go in because I was so sad. Hopefully the new person will take care of it and enjoy it as much as we did. I took some pictures before the movers arrived to pack us up....enjoy! Avery and I were goofing around one day and decided to take a couple pictures of ourselves...enjoy those too!

How sad somebody...our house with a for sale sign in front. :(

Settled in....

Hey everyone! As you can imagine, it's been a little crazy here at our house. We are finally unpacked and getting settled in. The only thing left to do is decorate and finalize some organization. Phew! Am I glad that is over!! However, we will be heading back to CA in August, so our stay in the new house is short lived. I'm definitely not looking forward to another move in 6 months...especially since this one totals our 3rd move in 4 years. I will post pics of the old house and the new house very soon. I would like to get the new house a little more presentable for pictures, but for now, enjoy the cute pictures of Avery and Matt...and one silly Avery video.

This video was suppose to be of Avery dancing on our kitchen floor mat, but as you can see as soon as I brought out the camera, she was much more interested in that!!

Stolen Super Bowl Pics & more

Hi Everyone! Long time, no post eh?? Well, I hope we have a good excuse. Recap of our lives for the past 2 weeks:

Jan 23-we decide to put our names on the base housing list
Jan28-choose a realtor
Jan 30-house goes on the market
Feb 1-we receive an offer on our house
Feb 3-all parties are in agreement, we are officially under contract
Feb 6-get a call from the realtor saying the buy wants to close even earlier (Originally scheduled for Feb 23).....now she wants to close Feb 16!

Holy cow!! Going from casually thinking about moving on base to officially moving, putting our house on the market, going under contract, and closing on our house all in a span of about 3 weeks! Things have been a little overwhelming here, definitely a good overwhelming and once things calm down it will all be good. Thank goodness we have movers coming to move us because Matt will be gone pretty much the entire time we are moving in! The movers are scheduled to come Wed-Fri of next week and the buyer will officially take posession of our house on the 17th. :( How sad somebody. I really haven't a chance to think about everything yet because it's all been moving so quickly, but I am sad about leaving our first home. It just has a lot of memories, but we will always have those in our hearts right?

OK, enough about all the craziness...here are some pictures to enjoy (Thanks to Beth!) She always takes the most beautiful pictures.

Catching Up

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Ours was certainly busy, but we managed to have some fun in there too. We went over to Tim and Tammi's for some dinner, games and we even threw in a movie! Thanks again guys, we had a great time! Friday night, Saturday and all day Sunday we spent cleaning and organizing our house. To update everyone who we don't talk to everyday, Matt and I have decided to move on base pending our move to CA (hopefully!!). We are not quite sure when we are leaving, so we thought it would be smart to start the selling of our house now while we actually have a place to live once it's sold. The homes are absolutely beautiful and huge!! However, we are hoping we don't have any resident ghosts....most homes on base have ghost stories just because they are so old. Yikes!! Anyway, our house should officially go on the market tomorrow so we have been trying to prepare for the upcoming scramble in the mornings to make sure everything is just so. It's very overwhelming for us right now, but it will all be fine in the end.

On another funny note, so the reason I have not posted anything on the blog is because of this: We went over to our friends' Dave and Debbie's house last weekend for some yummy dinner and we played several games. We had a great time and I actually remembered to take pictures!! (Below). Well, all week I have been looking for my camera and then it dawned on me that I might have left it over there. As we were cleaning and reorganizing this weekend....guess what?? I found the stupid camera hidden behind a speaker on our entertainment center! Avery has taken a liking to our camera, so in order to avoid at least one temper tantrum, I hide it from her. Well apparently I hid it so well this time, I couldn't even find it! Ha Ha OK, I'm done for now. Enjoy the pictures and I promise more will come now that I have found our MIA camera. :)

Debbie and me!

Sketti Face

Our little Avery Grace, I fear, has already entered in to the terrible 2s a bit early. We have been patiently waiting through temper tantrum after temper tantrum, in the hopes that this phase too shall pass. :) However, tonight's dinner went on without much fight. Maybe it was because she liked making such a mess that she wasn't worrying about anything else. Who knows? All I know is that she has the cutest sketti face ever, but I am biased. :) She has really turned in to an eating machine lately. As you can see in the video, if her food isn't ready when she wants it, well then watch out! The video doesn't show some of the worst moments we've had of course, but I'd hate to get in between her and her food that's for sure! I can't imagine where she might get that from??? Hee Hee ;) Enjoy!

Date night and more

Happy Monday everyone....some of you may have the day off, however I am still plugging away at work. As you can see though, I am not working too hard!

We had a pretty decent weekend. It started out for me with lunch on Friday with Tammi, Beth and Reagan at Poor Richard's. I gave it a second chance and I have to say it was not too bad. Thanks ladies! I had a great time chit chatting and stalling my inevidable trek back to the office. Matt and I actually went out on a date Saturday. Instead of doing our usual "dinner and a movie", I decided we would do dinner, ice skating and then dessert at Applebee's. :) He was such a great sport and we really did have a good time...even though we were definitely the oldest ones out there who did NOT bring their children. We skated to teeny bopper music and I was pretty impressed that neither of us fell! Sunday, Avery and I had a quiet day, however I spent most of it talking to almost every member of my immediate family and my parent-in-laws. It was great talking to everyone and catching up.

I decided to take a couple videos on Sunday morning (Below) of Avery's excitement over brushing her teeth. I swear, the kid better have spotless pearly whites by the way she gets so excited about it!! Hopefully the enthusiasm lasts! As you will see in the video, she is standing on our couch doing something naughty, so I figured a great distraction would be to brush her teeth. I also have some random pictures that we've taken over the past couple of weeks.

Enjoy and have a great week!

Avery enjoying her Christmas present from Meemaw and Papa D. :)

I'm not sure if you can see it in this picture, but she's wearing daddy's snow hat and hamming it up for the camera.

Back to the blogging world!

Hello everyone! So, now that some of you have started giving me a hard time, not to mention any names...(SAM!) Hee hee!! I've finally decided to update our blog! Nothing too exciting this time. Just a really sweet picture of Matt and Avery reading and a random video of Miss Avery Grace. Not quite sure what her goal was with all the dish towels, but whatever! She was having fun. :)

We hope everyone had a safe and happy new year! I'll be back sooner with more pictures and/or videos.

Enjoy!

The Jolly Old Man in the Red Suit

We took Avery to see the famous man this time of year, Santa Claus, yesterday. As you can see in the picture she isn't so fond of him this year. :) We'll see what happens next year I guess!!

Happy 2 days til Christmas everyone! :)

Snow, Snow

This is what we woke up to Thursday morning....I guess more snow fell over night then we thought! Poor Matt is out there shoveling his little heart out....and no I'm not that bad of a wife....I did go out and help him, although he did most of it! :) There was no way either of us was going anywhere if we didn't shovel the driveway. I think the drift in front of the garage door was at least 3 feet! We have drifts in our back yard that are almost as high as our fence...and Sammi loves jumping around and getting buried in it! Everyone here is safe, thank goodness. Our friend Beth's parents are currently driving as we speak from CA to come see their new grandbaby! This little old snow storm wasn't stopping them. Since DIA (airport) is/was closed, the next flight out they could get was the 26th, so they decided to pack it up and head to WY. We'll be praying they make it safely!

We hope everyone else is doing well!

Dreaming of a White Christmas???

Well, the good news is, Matt, Avery and I get to spend some good quality time together. The bad news.....is that we have a blizzard!!!!!! Yikes! I left work early since the roads near our babysitters house were starting to close, and Matt wasn't too far behind. The base sent everyone home early as well as all the state offices. I could hardly see trying to pick up Avery, and was SOOOOO thankful we made it home safely. Any of you who have either lived or visited Cheyenne, you know how windy it can get. Well imagine 40-50mph wind gusts on top of heavy snow! It's crazy! I think this is the worst weather we've seen since we've been here. We just missed the snow storm of 2003. Well, to all of you who are enjoying nice weather, enjoy the pictures. You still don't get the full effect of the storm since I can't really capture the wind on my camera, but let your imagination run wild. (All of this is happening of course while our friends Sam and Brian are living in FL and Tim, Tammi and the boys are vacation in Disney World!!!!)

Caught in the act again!

Ah Hah!! Gotcha! For a little while, I thought Avery forgot about the drawer with all the kitchen towels.......as you can see by the photos below, I was quite wrong! haha It's the only drawer she's allowed in, so sometimes she takes definite advantage.

Zoo Lights

On Saturday, we headed down to the Denver area just to get out of town. We met our friends Heather and Kevin for some lunch at Flat Irons, then shopped a little and then headed to the Denver Zoo for the Zoo Lights. We were pleasantly surprised at how well Avery did since we left the house at 10:30am and did not get back until 9:00pm!

The Zoo Lights were well worth the drive and money to get in (only $14 total since Avery was free). There weren't as many animals out as usual obviously, and it was quite cold so I'm sure many of them were content to stay warm in their shelter. We did see elephants, tigers, hippos (pictured below), giraffes, a polar bear, snow leopards and a couple animals I can't remember. Avery barked at all the animals, since I think now that she knows a dog is an animal she thinks all animals are dogs! Ha Ha :) She's just too darn cute....we're thinking about keeping her. :) She had a great time looking at all the lights and seeing the animals. We grabbed a quick bite to eat and then headed back up to Cheyenne. Of course on the ride home our pooped out little munchkin took a good snooze and went straight to bed when we got home.
